I moved back to Namibia on the 25th November 2016, it was a beautiful sunny day when I boarded the Namibian National Airline, Air Namibia and said good bye to my favorite city, Cape Town. I lived there four amazing years that have changed my life completely. I fell in love with the place and the people. I could rant and rant about my sweet love for the Mother City but that is a post for another day.
The Friday morning I left, I never went to bed; I stayed up to spend time with three of my four best friends. I just couldn’t sleep. My soul sisters, I miss them so much. I borderline burst into tears every time I think about them. Fast forward, I left. I did and I still can not believe that I did. Inspiration to delete my old blog and start another is simply because I have chosen to start over, literally. Everyday, I give myself the chance to start over, to try my hardest to forget yesterday because it sure is gone and I can’t get it back.
Also, as much as I still have a burning passion for writing and photography, I have a new found love for travel. I simply want to explore all three. I will always write a little more than I do anything else just because its my first love, but thelifeofanamibian will be my safe haven as I continue to explore and figure out my journey. I often say to my friends, “this life thing is so hard,” and it is, if you let it be.
I choose Happiness! Cliche isn’t? Well, I still struggle with minor depression and anxiety and I will tell you this; everyday is amazing only when I make the conscience effort to make it amazing.
Speak soon (inserts a big fat smile because I just started over!)
